Weather: Cold and dry. Grey sky. Occasional sunny intervals. Gentle breeze.

 

Actions: entering with a backpack, a bucket and and a mop - cleaning the granite floor – building the carpet floor – boiling water with an electric kettle – placing a chair

 

7:45 She wakes up.

 

8:15 She gets out of bed, she walks to the window. There is a postage stamp glued on the glass. She gets close to it, almost touching the glass with her nose. First, she focuses on this stamp, next she refocuses on a tree outside. The tree is unsharp. She performs this exercise couple of times. Tree. Stamp. Tree. Stamp. Tree. She steps back and tries to keep the stamp in focus. She repeats this action while taking more and more distance.

 

(PAUSE)

 

Action: follows description, somehow…

 

8:38 She goes to the kitchen and turns on the radio.She prepares a coffee and starts baking Syrniki.

 

8:53 She has breakfast in her living room. She turns on the TV. She checks her mails on the computer. (SMAll PAUSE)

 

Actions: placing a table – preparing the coffee – turning on TV – starting to build up the walls

 

10:00 She gets dressed to leave her appartment. Black trousers. Black shoes. Lilac jacket. She takes the stairs.

 

Actions: a little break, drinking some water

 

11:26 She opens the door and goes straight to the kitchen. She empties her bag: buckweat, coffee, quark, bananas, beetroot, 1kg of beef and potatoes. She hangs her jacket on a hook at the door and takes out her shoes.

 

Actions: Placing a bag of Buckweat on the floor – leaving the jacket on the chair – boiling water again with the kettle

 

12:15 She goes to the kitchen and starts to make a beef broth. After it’s done she takes out the piece of meat and debones it. She grates the carrots, cuts some onions, beetroot and tomatoes. She bakes them in a pan and adds some tomato sauce. She cuts potatoes and puts them into the broth. She adds the baked vegetables to the broth and later on, she puts the meat back in.

 

13:22 She serves herself a plate of Borscht. She eats in the living room, the TV is still on.

 

Actions: building up the walls again – cleaning the dishes in the bucket and wiping it with a drying towel

 

13:50 She does the dishes.

 

14:18 She opens a box with old photographs, some albums and documents. Most of the photograps are still not sorted out. She finds an empty album and arranges the pictures. She trows away the doubles.

 

Actions: taking the photograps out of the cardboard and the album, placing them on the table

 

15:45 The TV is still on. She is still at the table looking to these pictures.

 

16:23 She receives a WhatsApp message from her son-in-law. He reminds her it’s her oldest son’s birthday. 16:30 She sends a message to her oldest son. “Happy birthday, Dima!”

 

16:35 She opens another box and finds her youngest son’s old primary school notes, when he was learning how to write.

 

Actions: building up the walls again – placing the note book on the table

 

17:00 She receives a reply from Dima. It reads: “How can you not be worried about your family in Ukraine.”

 

17:01 She sits at the table to write a reply. (little break)

Actions: taking out a lunchbox from the backpack and eating a sandwich, drinking some coffee, having a banana (starting to read when actions are finished)

 

18:30 She makes a cup of tea and some bread with cheese. The TV is still on.

 

19:45 She goes to the bathroom.

 

20:25 She sits at the table to write a reply. The TV is still on.

 

21:00 The TV is still on. She watches the news again.

22:05 She turns off the TV, brushes her teeth and goes to bed.

 

Actions: turning off the TV, taking some water out of the backpack, putting on the backpack and leaving while drinking the beer
